#OCCUPYPHILLY
POPPYN went to City Hall to talk to people participating in the #OCCUPYPHILLY movement and then we took it to South Philly to find out how youth feel about the cause.
National March and Rally for Youth Investment
In the summer of 2011, students from cities like Boston, Philly, Detroit, and NYC came together for the National March and Rally for Youth Investment. They banded together to fight for youth jobs and for education reform. These students came to the nation's capitol, Washington, D.C. to demand that the government pay attention to their future. POPPYN was there to capture all the action and figure out what motivated these students to march for their rights!
StarFinder
POPPYN talked to some kids from StarFinder who are learning about leadership and confidence by playing soccer. One of their sponsors had a surprise trip for the players and we got to find out more about the experience of Philadelphia soccer players in SWEDEN!
buildOn
We're kicking off POPPYN Episode #6 with buildOn, a non-profit organization that empowers youth through service initiatives in the US and abroad. They recently hosted their year end celebration. POPPYN attended and learned about their local initiatives as well as opportunities for students to travel abroad. So check it out and see what you learn.
